What to Expect From Professional Coaching
Coaching is one of three professional supports for ADHD – the others being therapy and medication. ADHD coaching provides education, tools, and strategies for living a better life with ADHD. Therapy primarily gives attention to your past experiences, coaching focuses on where you are now and where you want to be in the future. Coaches do not diagnose ADHD, nor do we prescribe medication.

Coaching is a process of supporting change over a period of time – usually two to three months at minimum. Over that time you will have a series of conversations with your coach identifying a goal and actions you can take toward your goal. You may have a different goals each week, or you may identify a goal with a longer time span, or you may do some of each. You will want to look for a coach you feel a comfortable connection with, one who listens to you, understands what you want, and works with you to create a step-by-step path forward.
